Survival Island: Evolve Beginner’s Guide: 5 Tips & Tricks to Survive Longer

At first, you thought you were on some kind of vacation, until you notice something very weird about the island you are on. Survival Island: Evolve is an immersive survival game for mobile devices. In the game, you will be creating tools, scavenging for food, and building shelters from scratch. The game has an extensive crafting system that will allow you to create practically anything you could possibly need. Of course, finding the materials for these crafts would be a different thing altogether. The island is full of creatures that see you as their next meal. Armed with primitive weapons, you can only hope that you survive long enough to make sense of things. There are a lot of ways to die when you are stranded on an island. Read our Survival Island: Evolve tips and tricks if you want to make it out alive!

1. Keep An Eye on Your Needs

Your character has four primary needs, but food and water will be the most urgent. When you start out, you won’t have much to work with, so you will need to search the trees for resources. Crafting an axe or a club will allow you to cut down trees. If you are not able to do this, settle for the shrubs first. Make sure you eat any coconuts you find because they satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst.

2. Animals Are Deadly In Close Combat

Just because you have an axe does not mean you should be challenging any of the animals on the island to melee combat. Even when armed, the animals can easily kill you. Stick to your vegetarian diet during the first few levels of the game. Once you have the ability to craft a bow and arrow, that is the time for you to go animal hunting. The bow and arrow will allow you to attack animals from a distance, giving you some time to kill them before they find you. If you insist on hunting before you get a bow and arrow, stick to weak animals like a zebra, or a slow one like an elephant. Successfully hunting down an animal will get you a lot of raw meat, lard, and rawhide.

3. Stock Up On Arrows

This is a survival game, so don’t expect to magically have an unlimited supply of arrows. Before you go into battle against an elephant or hippo, make sure you have more than enough arrows to take them down. Don’t forget to switch to run mode before shooting your first arrow. When you are ready, get close enough to your target just enough for you to be able to shoot. Your target will go fly into a rage as soon as the first arrow hits, so make sure you keep running backwards while you continue to shoot. Once your target is down, you just need to walk over to the body and collect your rewards.

4. Grind For Experience

Every action you take gives you experience that will help you level up. That means you can grind for levels by simply whacking down trees or breaking rocks repeatedly. This is a safe way for you to level up, especially in the early parts of the game when confrontation is too dangerous. You need to level up as quickly as you can. Each level you gain gives you access to new crafting recipes. The higher your level is, the more advanced the recipes will be. That means you will soon be able to create better weapons, campfires, cooking utensils, and even elaborate shelters if you keep working on your levels.

5. Make The Island Your Home

You’re really not going anywhere any time soon, so you may as well make yourself a home. Once you reach a decent level in the game, you will be able to craft a whole bunch of useful things that will make your life comfortable. One trick you should know is how to block wild animals from spawning. Look for their spawn point and plop down a big house on top of it. You will be able to live relatively animal-free for the rest of the game. Don’t worry because you can still hunt them in other locations in case you need food and other resources.

Living on a strange island with nothing but your hands is definitely tough, so make sure you rely on our Survival Island: Evolve tips and tricks. In case you know more useful tips for the game in order to survive longer, let us know below in the comments!

I’ve notice if you want to attack a big animal, go to the ocean. You can kill them without them harming you if your close to the shore but in the water.

Love this game. Have been playing it for quite a while now. I was hoping that after a year of game play, someone might have come out with a type of guide for building. There are items in the game that I haven’t found a use for… like the glass panes?? Obviously windows.., but haven’t figured out HOW to use them in the windows. What about the beams? They would be great as railings in decks or on the decks/wharfs built off houses… but again, how do you use them?? GAME DESIGNER…. Would love furniture and stuff to put in houses, besides the bed. Even a cook stove to cook… a work station/table to make things like bowls? Plates? How about a way to have a fish tank in your house? Use the glass panes to build the tank, and catch fish in the water for the tank. Feed them with something taken from plants or the water. Lots of ways to expand or bring more to this game. I DO LOVE the feeling of being alone and going about my business on the islands. It’s so peaceful. A nice respite from the real world!! THATS WHY I LOVE THIS GAME! Thank you!!

Killing animals with bow and arrows while running backward is a slow process and required a lot of arrows. I found that using club while running backward gets the job done faster (even faster than spear) even with multiple wild animals chasing you. Lioms, aligators, even elephants and rhinos fall easily with this technique. Never died using this technique.

I have found that the easiest way to hunt safely is from the boat. You can even hunt tons of lions parked right on the edge of the water. They will continue to spawn and come to your “parking spot” as long as you want to hunt them. Most animals will (the big aggressive ones anyway - i.e.: lions, gators, & hippos). What I hate is that the trees don’t respawn and leave a barren landscape. Eventually you run out of trees!

@IndyHorseLover, standing just on the water edge, just make sure its the shallow part not the sudden drop deep part can have the same result. They can't touch you but surprise, your club can hit them and it takes only 3 to 4 wacks to kill the largest animal. I seldom use arrows as it takes to long to kill them.
