Spiral (Ketchapp) Tips, Cheats & Tricks: 5 Hints to Get a High Score

Ketchapp’s new game Spiral is the latest in a long, long line of casual, endless titles from this leader in the casual mobile game market. Like the company’s other titles, this game is available for Android and iOS devices, and the game’s description is short and straight to the point. According to Ketchapp, the game is an addicting and colorful journey down the spiral tower, where players simply have to tap to leap over obstacles, but make sure their timing is right on point. You can also collect gems to unlock new characters and new skins for the towers, and at the end of the day, the main objective is to get the highest score possible, beating your friends and also beating other players from around the world in the leaderboards.

There doesn’t seem to be much about this game, and we must admit that the learning curve isn’t too steep in here if you’re trying to learn the basic mechanics. But it takes a special kind of player to make it up high on the leaderboards, and we believe we can help you with that, with these Spiral tips and hints. Just like the game, they’re pretty simple, but also pretty effective for anyone who wants to master the game.

1. Don’t Mind The Gems

Although the mechanics of this game are simple to learn, the game itself can be quite a challenge. So if you’re just starting out and not sure what to do, you should focus on learning the mechanics and ignore the gems completely. For newer players, the gems may throw you off and avert your focus from what should really matter – we’ve heard of several players who originally thought that the gems are obstacles, when they actually aren’t. As a result, these players tend to tap and jump too soon, and that invariably ends up in a quick and uneventful “game over.” Don’t make the same mistake and don’t find yourself hitting the wall earlier than you want. If you’re new, resist the temptation and ignore the gems.

2. Focus Is Extremely Important

Speaking of focus, that’s one thing you really, really have to do in Spiral if you want to last long and get a high score. That could mean keeping your eyes in one position and not darting from left to right. Although the obstacles appear progressively faster, the increases in speed are incremental, and definitely not exponential. In fact, the speed increase will be so small that there’s a good chance you won’t notice the game’s getting faster until you’re well into it. So don’t worry about things speeding up, and to repeat a point we made above, don’t worry about the gems. Just focus your eyes on one place, and make sure you’re always on the lookout for obstacles.

3. Where Should You Be Focusing On?

You may also wonder where you have to be focusing if you have to have your eyes trained on a specific point on your screen. This may differ from player to player, but we would personally recommend that curve you see in front of the ball. If you focus on this point, you will have an easier time reacting to walls and other obstacles. And once you’ve done this several times across several runs, you may become so good at it that you can look down from time to time to keep your guard up for obstacles that appear going up. This works best once the game’s speed becomes much faster than it was at the start.

4. Don’t Turn Down The Volume

Some players play these endless casual games better with sound, others play them better with the volume muted. In Spiral, it may be better if you play with sound on, because it gives you the heads-up you need as you progress onward in the game. Jumping over a wall would trigger a sound, and that sound will keep getting louder each time you jump. You will also hear a tone when you collect a gem. Now you may wonder how that helps improve your score, but here’s how it actually could – you may be able to pick up a rhythm and allow that to guide your jumps and your timing. Again, you may or may not prefer playing the game with sound, but if you do, then pay close attention to the rhythm.

5. What Do The Gems Get You?

As we mentioned in the overview above, gems can be used to buy new balls (new “characters”) and new skins. These characters and skins can be useful in changing things up and breaking the monotony. But in terms of gameplay, they don’t come with any special strengths or weaknesses – this is a Ketchapp game, so expect the usual when it comes to the extra content!

These would be our tips and tricks for Ketchapp’s new mobile game, Spiral. If you know additional hints on how to improve your high score in the game, be sure to let us know!

I find it a lot easier if you tap to jump with your thumb right over where the score keeps adding up! I find this easier to focus as you can't see the numbers and it doesn't distract you:)
