Six! (iOS) Tips & Cheats: 7 Hints You Need to Know

Finally, it would appear as if Pokemon GO is losing some steam, though it remains wildly popular among Android and iOS gamers. For the latter platform’s App Store, however, there have been a couple of games that had briefly unseated Niantic’s mobile blockbuster from the top spot, and Gram Games’ Six! is one of them. Gram Games, if the name doesn’t ring a bell, is the same company that gave us 1010! and Merged! (hence the exclamation point), and the company’s new title is also a puzzle game. As the company explains, there is a “tower of blocks of various shapes,” with one hexagonal block on top. Your goal is to move that hexagon down the screen so you can add to your point total, and in order to do that, you’ll have to tap on the blocks to make them disappear. And once you’ve gotten rid of all the blocks, you can let the hexagon drop through into the empty space.

Although, that might sound like one of the simplest game concepts out there, there are some catches, and one of them is that the hexagon will begin to wobble around. Another is that the tower may tilt a bit, thus defeating your secondary objective to balance the tower. So if you need help solving the puzzles in this game, we recommend you read on for our list of Six! tips, cheats and hints.

1. The Basics Of The Game – Scoring And Piece Removal

As you remove more pieces, you will get five points each for every piece that’s removed from the tower. And to further expound on what we said in the game overview, removing the correct piece will allow the hexagonal piece to move further down, but removing the wrong one will cause the hexagon to roll around. You may also have to drop pieces while working backwards, starting out low and working your way up. (Yes, it sounds like a paradox, but that’s backwards in the sense you’re not moving from top to bottom.) In addition, there are also times when you may have to pick up the pace and drop the pieces quickly so the ones on top don’t tip over.

2. Consider How Removing A Piece Would Affect The Tower

However, in most cases there’s no need at all for you to remove blocks located immediately below the hexagon. As we said in the above tip, you can tap on any piece you see. But be prepared for things to get challenging, as it gets more difficult for you to predict the effect of a piece’s removal as you push further on in the game. Still, it would be nice if you can practice predicting these things, as it may be the difference between victory and defeat if you’re a mere one or two rows away from making it to the next star. You also might have to think beyond the obvious, as a simple rectangle removal, for instance, could help you get more stars and make it to the checkpoint faster.

3. How To Get More Coins

Want to earn more coins in the game? You can add to your stockpile of coins by naturally playing the game – this would require moving past a certain part of the tower. Or you can watch free ads the moment they become available for you to watch. Tap on the option that allows you to watch the video, and once you’re done watching, you’ll get some coins as a reward. It won’t be a lot of coins, but you can keep watching these ads and watching the money roll right in. You can also force ads to show up by going to the hexagon shop, but backing out of buying something. That will pull up the video icon once you leave the shop, regardless whether it was originally there or not.

4. What’s In It For You With Those Hexagons?

Once you’ve got enough coins, you can then go to the hexagon shop and look for the hexagon that suits you the best. Some may cost more than others, but to be perfectly honest, they all play the same way, as it’s all about customization here. The more expensive hexagons are the ones with more intricate designs, while the cheaper ones are usually solid-colored hexagons with similarly solid-colored borders. They don’t come with any special power-ups baked in, nor do they change gameplay in any way, as mentioned. But any time you feel bored with the design you’re currently using, you can switch from one design to the other to break the routine and keep you motivated when playing the game.

5. Complete The Dailies

As Six! is a fairly new game, there aren’t too many game modes to speak of. But it does come with a series of daily challenges that expire 24 hours after they are launched. There are three stages in the dailies, and you can access them by hitting the “Challenge” button on the main menu. Take note, however, that you can only access the second challenge if you complete the first with three stars, and the third if you complete the second with the same number of stars. Give it your all in the dailies, as any and all stars earned in those challenges will be added as a bonus to your main game total.

What can you expect in the dailies? The goal in here would be to drop the hexagon by a specific distance, with the block sizes and locations all being static regardless of how often you play the challenges. It’s not like the endless mechanic of regular mode, where everything also happens to be randomized, with the blocks being located in varying points and their sizes also differing from each other.

6. Try Button Mashing If You Want To Drop Your Hexagon Down Quickly

If you need more distance when trying to drop your hexagon down, you can try button mashing, or “tap-mashing” right underneath it. Sure, you’ll be getting rid of random blocks, but chances are you’ll be able to make it down quite a bit before your run is over. Just make sure you take a few moments to destroy side blocks that may hamper your hexagon along the way.

7. Try This Cheat, Straight From The Game’s Makers Themselves

It’s quite rare for developers to insert Easter eggs that essentially serve as cheats. But Gram Games has sneaked one in, and it’s as simple as tapping on the square on the right side of the stack to launch an ad video. Watch that ad video, and once you’re done, you’ll be destroying blocks one row after another, and earning five points per block, just like you would when playing the game as normal. There is, however, a caveat to this cheat.

That caveat is that you can only use the cheat at the start of the level, and you cannot use it should you get stuck in a level that you can’t seem to complete. Another catch would be the fact that you won’t be getting any stars. This cheat is designed solely to help you double down on the points, so take advantage of it if you’re trying to chase a high score.
