POU: The First Smash Cheats, Tips & Strategy Guide to Smash Your Enemies

Prepare yourself for the ultimate smashing action game to date! POU: The First Smash is a new tapping game created by Creasaur for mobile devices, where your job is to save the world from attacking monsters. You will be defending from wave after wave of skeletons, hounds, zombies, and more. All you have to fight against them is your finger! You will have to tap on each enemy to smash them before they reach your aura. Your aura is your health. Every time enemies hit your aura, it will go down. When it goes down to zero, it’s game over! The game starts out fairly easy, with only a handful of enemies coming your way. Soon you will literally have your hands full with hordes rushing towards you. Be sure to read our compilation of POU: The First Smash cheats, tips and strategy guide before you get overwhelmed by monsters!

1. Tap Ahead Of Enemies

When you are smashing enemies with your fingers, you might notice that a lot of them manage to slip through your fingers. That’s probably because you are tapping right on top of them. Remember, your targets are moving. You need to anticipate their movement. This becomes a little tricky for monsters who are moving from side to side, but the concept is the same. You need to tap just a little ahead of them to ensure that you hit them.

2. Aim For Three Stars

At the end of each stage, you will be given a star rating based on your performance. The highest rating you can get is three stars. The rating depends solely on how much is left on your aura bar. That means you need to make sure no one gets through at all costs. Getting a three-star rating in a stage greatly increases the amount of chi points that you get. Chi points are the game’s currency and you will need a lot of it if you want to progress far in the game.

3. Watch Out For Humans

Surprisingly, the last things you want to see in POU: The First Smash are humans. They suddenly appear, running away from the enemies. While they don’t really do damage to your aura, the reason they are so notorious is because you are forbidden from killing them. Smashing a single human will immediately end your run. Make sure you keep an eye out for humans and be careful when tapping on enemies that are right beside them!

4. Accuracy Is Key

Another way to raise your earnings at the end of each stage is by accumulating a high combo. To trigger a combo, you must smash enemies consecutively without missing a single tap. This is easy to accomplish if you practiced our earlier advice about tapping ahead. Just focus on the enemies and make sure you do not randomly tap on them when they are rushing towards you. The higher your combo is, the more bonus chi points you will earn at the end of the stage.

5. Use Your Skill Strategically

You have a skill that will wipe out all the monsters on the screen. This skill, however, goes on cooldown right after you use it. This is why you should avoid squandering it on only a handful of enemies. You should also avoid over reliance on your skill to handle multiple enemies. You need to be able to handle multiple enemies on your own if you are to survive the later stages of this game. Hold off on using your skill until you are about to be overwhelmed by monsters. Use your skill right before the first monster hits your aura in order to protect your star rating.

6. Prioritize Upgrading Your Skill

There are several options for upgrades in POU: The First Smash and you will need to spend chi points to buy them. You have the option to upgrade the effectivity of power ups. You can also increase your base aura through upgrades. You don’t really need a whole lot of aura in the early stages of the game, especially since your goal is to make sure none of the enemies ever reach your aura. You also won’t be using a lot of power ups since you will need to purchase them per piece. Your skill, however, is free to use. What you will be upgrading is the cooldown time of your skill. Once you max it out, you will be able to use it multiple times in a single run. This will come in handy when there are multiple hordes that threaten to overwhelm you.

7. Get A Shield

The fourth category under upgrades is the shield. It is not technically an upgrade since it is consumable. You will get a layer of protection that will absorb all damage before your aura gets hit. There are three types of shield, and it is recommended that you get only the best one that is worth 14,000 chi points. Even in the early stages, monsters deal a lot of damage to shields, so the low-level shields would only be a waste of chi points. On top of that, you can get a high-level shield for free by watching a video advertisement. Keep in mind that having a shield is not an excuse to be lazy. Like we mentioned, this is consumable. That means if your shield gets damaged, you will start the next stage with a damaged shield. If it breaks, you will have no shield in the next stage. Using a shield is important because you will still get a three-star rating if only your shield gets damaged. This gives you a bit of wiggle room for getting those three stars.

8. Look For Free Bombs

As you play through as stage, bombs will occasionally pop up somewhere on the screen. Use these to your advantage by tapping on them as soon as several enemies are within range. It destroys all enemies in its immediate vicinity when you tap on it. Don’t worry if there are humans nearby because they do not deal damage to humans. Make sure you don’t wait too long before using them, though. They will disappear if left unused after a couple of seconds.

9. Complete The Achievements

When you are on the main screen, you will see a Rewards button on the lower left corner. Tap on it to view a list of achievements. These achievements mostly involve hitting certain milestones in the game. For example, you will get a reward for killing 500 Ogimas across all your runs. You even get rewards for killing a certain number of humans. Some of the achievements, however, will require specific actions from you. For example, you get a reward for sharing your score on Facebook for the first time. You also get rewards for purchasing upgrades. Browse through the list of rewards to see which ones you can accomplish right away. You get varying amounts of chi points for every achievement, so it is a good way to boost your income.

10. Try The Survival Mode

If you are feeling confident about your monster-smashing abilities, it may be time for you to hit Survival Mode. You will gain access to Survival Mode after you complete Stage 20. As you could probably guess from the name, this mode is all about staying alive for as long as possible. You will be faced with endless waves of enemies with increasing difficulty. The longer you survive, the higher your score will be. Of course, higher scores will reward you with more chi points at the end of your run.

11. Utilize Ads Wisely

The game gives you several benefits in exchange for watching ads. There is a catch, though. You only have a limited number of ads per day, and the number is shared across all benefits. That means if you use too many ad offers in one category, you will no longer be able to watch ads in other parts of the game.

We already mentioned the first ad offer before. You can get a free high-level shield if you watch an ad. It is alright if you spend one of your ads for the day in getting a shield. Just make sure you do not squander that shield or you will have to take away more ad chances from the other options. The second ad offer you will encounter in the game is the free continue. When your run ends, you will be able to continue where you left off for free by watching a video advertisement. What is great about continuing is that you will still have a shot at getting three stars because you will return to the stage with full aura. If you do decide to continue, make sure you only do so when you are almost at the end of the level, when the risk of dying again is pretty low. You will know your progress through the level by checking the top left indicator on the screen.

Another ad offer you will encounter comes at the end of each stage where you can gain 50% more chi points. The final ad offer you will encounter is the one we highly recommend. When you head into the store, you will see a button at the top right. Tap on it to receive 14,000 chi points after watching an ad. This will go on cooldown for 20 minutes right after. In the early stages of the game, it is better if you prioritize your ad chances for the 14,000 chi points from the store. You only get a few thousand chi points at the end of each round, so you will still get a lot more from the store. This will change when you reach the late stages of the game when your earnings go over 14,000 chi points.
