Pixel Starships, the retro-style spaceship building MMORPG from SavySoda, has just gotten more tactical thanks to its latest content update on iOS and Android.
Following on from February’s eSports add-on, the Melbourne-based developer has rolled out the Advanced Tactics expansion to beef up the game’s competitive elements.
Advanced Tactics is aimed at mid-to-high level players and it includes a range of new features for them to sink their teeth into. These include the Starship Cloaking weapon – a power-up that makes spacecrafts invisible to opponents for a limited time – and the option to work with other crews to gain unique passive abilities.
Other new additions include hull expansions which enable players to ferry more weapons and cargo around in the ships, and the biochemistry facility, a hub where Pixel Starships users can craft items. Bonus achievements, new crews, room upgrades, additional missions and more round off the incoming content.
Pixel Starships, was made possible thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign and it has attracted over 3 million players worldwide since going live on iOS and entering early-access beta on Android.
The game is available now from Google Play and the App Store, with the Advanced Tactics update included.
