Pink Pong is exactly the kind of mobile game you think it is – it’s a modern take on Pong, and it features a pink character. This super-simple iOS-only game (no Android version, it seems) is the creation of one William Jamieson, who says all there is to know about the game in its ultra-concise description. Simply tap to move the paddles, and make sure you don’t hit the wrong color, while trying to hit the right color as many times as possible as your score goes up. Okay, we expanded his description a bit, but with a mere two lines, it seems as if Jamieson was thinking “brevity is the soul of wit” when describing Pink Pong to would-be players.
Now, that we’ve given you a bit of an orientation on the game and its mechanics, we shall now be answering that question you may currently have on your mind – how do you score as high as possible in this game? Read on, and we’ll show you how through these Pink Pong tips and tricks.
1. When Should You Tap On The Screen?
One thing you’ll notice from the get-go is how close the balls/paddles are to the center of your iPhone or iPad’s screen. That could make it challenging for players, especially newer ones to react fast enough. But this doesn’t always have to be a difficult task; in fact, we’ve made it much simpler. We suggest that you only tap on the screen if the ball remains the same color after hitting the paddle, but not if it changes color after hitting the paddle.
2. Speed Is Everything When Tapping
We cannot stress this enough – once you notice that the ball didn’t change color, then tap on your screen as soon as possible. The game can be very sensitive, and it won’t allow you much time to react; you really have to be as quick about it as possible.
3. Turn Off Those Ads, And This Time We Recommend It Highly
More game developers are coming up with ways to monetize their titles without being too intrusive or pushy about it. Unfortunately, Pink Pong maker Jamieson is not one of them, as the ads in the game tend to be pushier than others. You have no choice but to sit through a video every five games, and with no payoff for watching that video, it’s easy to get frustrated. We strongly suggest switching your phone to airplane mode, or turning off your Wi-Fi, if you’re chasing after a high score.
4. Take A Rest If You Have To
Pink Pong looks simple, and it feels like classic Pong in many ways. But even if Pong is one of gaming’s all-time classics and a game so simple even a kid could play it, it could also be frustrating if you follow up one bad game with another. Step aside from the game for at least half an hour, then return once you feel refreshed enough to reset your momentum and go after those high scores again.
That’s it for now, as far as our list of Pink Pong tips and tricks are concerned. Do you know other hints for the game, which helps improve the high score? If so, don’t hesitate to share those tips with us!
