1. How It All Works

Love Island: The Game pretty much follows the show’s format in the sense that you have a group of guys and girls that need to pair up in order to stay on the island. The episodes are divided into Days, with key events occurring on each Day. On Day 1, couples get to pair up based on their initial impressions. The person who does not get chosen at the end of the day goes home. As the main character, you get to choose who stays on who goes home on the first day.

The episodes are played out as a story, filled with conversations between your character and the rest of the islanders. You will often receive multiple choices when it is time to respond to your fellow contestants. The choices you make will determine the kind of impression your ideal partner will have on you. It will also determine how the rest of the game will play out. For example, you will have the option to stick with a partner whose personality clashes with yours for the sake of playing it safe. 2. Meet The Girls

The island has five girls and six guys. Your relationship with the girls could just be as meaningful depending on how the story plays out. It would serve you well to get to know your competitors, so you can figure out how you want to deal with them later on. You – At the start of the game, you get to create your own character. That makes you one of the five girls on the island. Feel free to develop yourself however you want, just be prepared for the possible consequences.

Allegra – Hailing from Swansea, this 24-year-old Cocktail Entrepreneur can be a good friend for your character if you know how to treat her. She is mostly honest and is friendly enough for you to get along with. She has a terrible jealous side, so make sure you know what you are getting into if you plan to take her man.

Erikah – This Jobbing Actor from Norwich is the youngest in the bunch. At the tender age of just 20 years old, she can come off as a bit shy, but that also makes her very friendly. She will usually take your side as long as you don’t go out of your way to be mean.

Jen – This Fashion Blogging blonde from London can be tricky to deal with. She claims that her mean looks are unintended, but your character knows better. If you feel like going for a bit of a challenge, feel free to take her on.

Talia – A 23-year-old Music Journalist from Watford, this girl is the living embodiment of a bombshell. Her smoldering good looks and exquisite hair means she can get away with saying whatever is on her mind. Tread with caution.

3. Get To Know The Guys

As we mentioned earlier, there are six guys on the island, each one with his own quirks. If you are choosing a partner based solely on looks, you might have a bumpy ride ahead of you. Take time to get to know each of the guys and make better decisions. We have listed all of them below for your reference.

Jake – Behind that easy smile hides a broken heart. This beefy chef can get a little emotional at times. If you can handle that, you have some good food and great company in your future.

Mason – Despite his jock-like appearance, and tendency to pose as though he is always in a photoshoot, he can be a really sensitive guy. That’s probably because he is not just an underwear model, he is also a musician. A solid choice if you don’t get too distracted by his abs.

Miles – This redheaded carpenter from Glasgow has some serious goals. He wants to build an entire house with his bare hands. While that’s an amazing feat, this guy can actually be pretty boring. Choose him if you can get past the watermelon shorts or the ugly tattoos.

Tim – This DJ from Cornwall tries a little too hard. His heart is in the right place, and he constantly tries to cheer up whoever is feeling down. The only problem is he can be more annoying than helpful most of the time.

Jasper – If you thought Miles was bad, wait until you talk to this Financial Advisor from Kingston. He is confident and knows what he wants. He also has the most gorgeous hair among the guys. The problem is he is too much of a pragmatist. His no nonsense approach to things makes you wonder why he bothered joining the show in the first place.

Levi – Also known as Romeo, this professional water polo player is a true ladies’ man. Don’t get too carried away with that smile because this guy is out to break a few hearts. Choose him if you are only looking for something casual.

4. Flirting 101

The easiest way to get someone to like you in this game is to simply say what they want to hear. None of the characters are really complicated, so it is pretty easy to guess what they want you to say. Flattery usually wins them over, so if any of your choices compliments them in any way, choose that. If the characters are having a discussion and you are asked for your opinion, just take the side of the guy you want to flirt with. You don’t even have to be consistent with your answers. Just choose whichever option is the most flattering for your beau.

Once you have chosen which among the characters you want to end up with, make sure you focus your attention on him. Shower them with compliments and winks to keep them interested. Finally, just because you aren’t committed yet does not mean you could go around flirting with other guys. Make sure you avoid giving flowery responses to other people if you already have a good thing going with one of the guys.

5. Watch Out For The Ladies

Men are predictable. We all know that. A few compliments here and there to stroke their ego can go a long way. Women, on the other hand, can be as predictable as they come. Gems are the premium currency in Love Island, so it would be wise if you hold on to them until you are sure about which guy you want. Spending some gem time with your favorite guy would definitely score you some points with him, regardless of how you behave during the date. Of course, you should still try your best to make the most out of the gems you spent to get that one-on-one with your man. This is one of the benefits of deciding who you want to be with early on.
