Daddy Long Legs maker Set Snail has released a new puzzle game for Android and iOS called illi (stylized in lower case). As the company says, it’s not just any puzzle game, but a “polished” one-button platform puzzler. If you’re wondering about the name, it is called as such because you play a creature called illi, and will be jumping and platforming through a “strange world where gravity follows you.” Set Snail continues by cautioning you, the gamer, that illi’s world is vastly different from the world we live in; you’ll also be traveling through portals and entering barren worlds as you gather the remaining light crystals. There are over 60 levels for you to complete, and over 170 quests, allowing you lots of opportunities to test your problem-solving skills while controlling that “slug-goatish creature” called illi.
Having difficulty making friends with gravity? Stuck at a certain level, or probably not sure where you should start in this game? You don’t need to worry about that, as we’ve got that all covered in this list of illi tips and hints.
1. It’s All About Timing
When jumping around in the game, you’ll find out just how important good timing is. There’s always the chance you may leap off too early from a platform, ending your game and killing illi as you fall down the stage, or, in some cases, go upward and hit your head somewhere. You may be too aggressive in jumping and end your run that way, or you could be too conservative and similarly run into trouble. It will take a lot of practice when it comes to perfecting your timing, but that’s what you have to do in general so you could complete more levels.
2. You Don’t Have To Complete Levels With Multiple Quests In One Go
The game has many levels where you’ve got only one quest to worry about, but there are some others where there are multiple quests. But you don’t need to complete them all in one sitting; you could go on more than one run and complete those quests. And you won’t have to start from scratch and re-collect the crystals; whatever you had gathered beforehand will still be there when you replay a level to complete unfinished quests.
3. How Can You Regain Your Energy?
Losing a level in this game will cost you one energy point. So how do you get that energy back without having to wait? If you’re really impatient and couldn’t wait to start playing again, you can watch an advertisement video as long as one is available. Watching that 30-second clip will instantly refill your energy. Or, you can buy unlimited energy if you’ve got some real-life cash to burn, though we would be more in favor of watching those advertisements.
4. Replay Older Levels To Earn More Medals
Illi (the game, not the creature) has some gates that show up from time to time, and in order to get past those gates, you’ll need to have a certain amount of medals. Don’t worry if ever that’s the case; you can always grind for medals by going back to previously completed levels and playing them once again. Who knows, you might stumble upon a quest you hadn’t completed the first time around.
