Golf Clash Ultimate Guide: 13 Tips & Tricks to Become the Best Player

Golf Clash is a unique multiplayer golf simulation game from Playdemic. Available on iOS and Android platforms, this game lets you play against fellow golf enthusiasts from all over the world. Unlike most golf simulation games, however, this one does not have any dull moments full of checking angles and wind direction. It features a quick-fire control system where all you need to do is drag and release. This makes the game a lot more dynamic and easy to pick up.

Mastering it is another thing altogether, though. While you won’t need to worry too much about aiming, you will have to be very good at timing. A split-second too late in releasing the ball and you could easily end up with a terrible swing. While you may have read our first Golf Clash guide, we are back with even more tips and tricks for the game. The good news is you can rely on our Golf Clash ultimate strategy guide to teach you everything you need to know!

1. Timing Is Everything

As mentioned above, mastering the game’s controls is all about timing. If you want to succeed in this game, the first thing you need to learn is to when to let go of the ball. Getting the ball off the ground is simple enough. You just need to pull the ball back until it hits the blue circle. Make sure everything is aligned perfectly. You will see a small target in the middle of the screen with a needle going back and forth across it.

golf clash strategies

The needle must be at the center of the bull’s eye in order to execute the perfect shot. It will take a bit of practice because you need to release the ball just a little bit before the needle hits the center so that it will be perfectly aligned. It will take a lot of practice but once you have it down, everything else will be a lot easier.

2. Move Your Target

The game automatically puts the target on the course for you. That doesn’t mean, however, that you need to stick to it. There are times that a better position is possible. Make sure you always check the course to see if you have the best possible position for the target. Feel free to move it around as you wish. It takes a bit of experience to be able to determine what the best target is. Experiment for a bit until you have a better understanding of each course.

As a general rule, you should always aim for the fairway. If you are currently targeting an area that is too close to the sand, and you are not confident that you will hit the ball perfectly, then it may be better to aim for a safer spot. It may take you longer overall, but it will be better than getting stuck in the wrong place. Remember, you are playing against other players. You can’t afford too many risks if you want to be able to win your matches.

3. Learn How To Putt

Once your ball is near enough to the hole, the game’s controls will change a bit. You will need to putt in order to get the ball into the hole. Just as with the regular shot, you need to pull the ball back to start the shot. You will notice that the bull’s eye is gone. Instead, there will be a path of light that will show the path your ball will take once released.

There is also another needle that needs to be aligned with the path. Adjust the path so that it goes into the hole then wait for the needle to perfectly align before releasing the ball. Make sure you don’t use too much power or the ball will roll right over the hole.

The game will tell you when your shot is overpowered so you just need to pay attention. You will see the hole’s flag go up if you are using the right amount of power for your putt. The hole will also have a bluish glow about it when you have a perfect shot lined up for it. Play around with the power of your shot and observe the game closely in order to master putting.

4. Upgrade Your Gear

Each of your clubs have their own attributes. These attributes are Power, Accuracy, Top Spin, Back Spin, Curl, and Ball Guide. You can upgrade your clubs in order to improve these. Needless to say, upgraded clubs will help make your games a lot easier. Prioritize upgrading your driver and putter. Money will be hard to come by during the early parts of the game so it will be better if you spend most of what you have on the clubs you use the often. Don’t forget to equip your shiny new clubs as they will not automatically be used after you acquire them.

The game also allows you to use different balls. Even though balls can only be used once before reverting back to the default, they have unique abilities such as Sidespin and Wind Resistance. These can help you win a game if used at the right time. Hold on to these balls until you really need them unless you have a lot to spare.

5. Know Your Clubs

As mentioned above, investing on upgrades is necessary if you want to get far in this game. However, there are a lot of different clubs available. It can be challenging to decide which club will be worth upgrading in the long run. Upgrading all your clubs to the maximum level is possible but it is a waste of money. Since you will have limited funds at first, make sure you spend only on the ones that you will be using until later tournaments. Listed below are the best clubs for each category.

Driver – The Apocalypse
Wood – The Cataclysm
Long Iron – The B52
Short Iron – The Hornet
Wedge – The EndBringer
Rough Iron – Nirvana
Sand Wedge – Spitfire

When choosing a driver, invest only in the Extra Mile, Apocalypse, or Thor’s Hammer. All other driver clubs are not worth upgrading since you will not be using them for long, if at all. Only the Guardian, Sniper, and Cataclysm should be upgraded for your wood clubs. Lastly, for rough iron clubs, make sure you only max out Nirvana. Of course, upgrade your other clubs if you don’t have alternative options. Just don’t spend too much on them.

6. Get Free Chests

Chests can help you out a lot in this game. The good news is that you can pick up a few of them for free. First, make sure you link your Facebook account to the game. Not only will this allow you to play against your Facebook friends, you will also receive a free Platinum chest! Aside from that, don’t forget that you will be rewarded with a Pin chest every eight successful putts.

You will be putting a lot anyway so it’s a great bonus for simply playing the game. Lastly, you get a free chest every four hours. Just check back into the game whenever you have a chance to see if the free chest is available so you can claim it.

7. Open Those Chests

Unlocking chests in the game takes some time so make sure you open them as soon as you can. They have different timers for opening so be strategic when doing it. If you will be online a lot, prioritize opening the chests with short timers. If you will be offline for several hours, then it is best to queue up the chests with longer timers.

Chests contain tickets for certain clubs or balls. Keep track of the tickets that you have and use them to upgrade your clubs as soon as you can. Of course, you still need to prioritize your upgrades because the costs will go up as you progress. You won’t be able to afford to upgrade all of your clubs at once.

Improving your league ranking will increase the chances of getting more cards from chests. Just keep playing and you will slowly be able to climb the ladder. Once you have better gear, you will be able to increase your rank even more.

8. Aim For Achievements

Another great way to earn rewards in this game is to aim for achievements. These are mostly things that you will do as you play but it is a good idea to check out which ones you are close to completing. Achievements will reward you with gems which is the premium currency of the game. Needless to say, these gems are useful for a variety of things in the game so try to get as much of it as you can.

9. Participate In Tours

Participating in tours is an important part of the game as it will be your primary source of funds. Unfortunately, there is a fee for registering in these tours so make sure you have enough money left over after all your upgrades. Winning a tour rewards you with a lot of coins. Just make sure you choose which tour to participate in wisely. Since you will be shelling out money for registration, you don’t want to waste that by joining a tour you have no chances of winning.

Try participating in the first two tours a lot when you are still starting out. These are fairly easy to win even with basic equipment. Always have enough money to join two or three tours so you won’t be stuck if you end up losing. Also, try to participate in the seasonal tours that pop up during holidays. These usually offer better rewards. Take advantage of it and win as much as you can.

10. Earn A Lot Of Trophies

Trophies are needed if you want to get a lot of chests in the game. You can earn them from participating in tours. Each tour has a maximum number of trophies that can be won. Once you have earned the maximum from a specific tour, you will not be able to get any more trophies no matter how many times you replay it. You will still be able to earn coins from it, though. So, if you are just in need of a few easy wins for coins, you can replay the low-level tours as much as you want. As for the maximum number of trophies you can earn from each tour, they are listed below.

Beginner Tour – 20 Trophies maximum
West Coast – 50 Trophies maximum
Asia Pacific – 100 Trophies maximum
6-Star Hotel – 200 Trophies maximum
World Links – 300 Trophies maximum
U.S. Champions – 500 Trophies maximum

11. Watch A Lot Of Ads For Free Coins

It may be annoying to sit still and watch ads over and over but when you are still starting out, every bit of extra coin can go a long way. Watch advertisements whenever you can in exchange for some free coins. It takes a bit of patience since the reward isn’t a lot but it adds up eventually. This is especially useful when you are short by just a little for your upgrades. The advertisements aren’t really that long so just take a short break while letting the ad play on its own.

12. Prepare For Different Scenarios

golf clash tips

While you there are clubs that you should focus on upgrading, make sure you are not just focusing on a single attribute. You will be encountering different courses and scenarios as you play. You need to be prepared for whatever will be thrown at you. Having a good balance of different attributes is a good idea. This way, you won’t end up losing miserably just because you only have one club that you can use.

13. Consider Spin And Slice

In an ideal situation, all your shots would be perfect and there would be nothing to worry about. However, that will rarely happen. There are a lot of different factors that can affect your ability to hit a perfect shot. If you find yourself just missing the center of that bull’s eye, then make sure you adjust accordingly. Observe the behavior of the ball and adjust your aim so that you can still get as close as you can to the hole even if you miss the perfect shot.

Golf can be an exciting and competitive game, if you know how to play. Just remember everything you learned from our Golf Clash ultimate strategy guide and you will be winning matches with ease!

Hi David, I will try to make you understand the club upgrades. You will constantly get point upgrades for some clubs as you play along. If your club has a higher numerator, then you can upgrade the club (of course you need your coins to do that) and then the club increases its specs like power, accuracy, top spin, back spin, curve & ball guide. You can upgrade a club up to max of 10 at which case that would be the maximum specs of that club. Let me caution you that it is not wise to max all your clubs since some club are not worth upgrading so use your coins to upgrade the better clubs like for drivers - Thor, Extra mile, Apocalypse and Rock; for wood - sniper, cataclyse, big dawg, etc. Not all clubs have the same power, accuracy, top spin, back spin, curve or ball guide. the key is to just choose the best clubs to upgrade to safe on your coins. Hope this helps

I've commented by the contact about the discrepancy in club upgrades, I find that for example 1 in mine 2364/4 another 2818/50 and the club I use 51/200 a big discrepancy. On woods mine 3/20 and yet another2518/4. If you say any thing your ball starts doing some strange things. SO NO BIAS.

This tutorial would be better if it had pictures showing how to tell how long the distance to a hole is and how to determine (after getting the distance) how much power to use for the ultimate shot. Sometimes I luck out and get the birdie or eagle (just pure luck believe me) other times I either overshoot the hole by a mile or its just way to short.

I agree 100%. Having a driving range and putting green for practice would be beneficial to people sticking with this game and learning how the clubs and balls react. Swing and speed practice another plus for this developer.

Is the 3rd time when I start this game. I like it but I don't know if is rigged or not but 9 out of 10 times , I play with people that have at least 10 times more games ( way better clubs and balls) then I do. That's not fair nor realistic, but is their way to make you lose so you will buy stuff. My rule is : if I lose 3 games I STOP.
