There’s nothing like a good game of hoops to help you pass time. Dunk Shot is a basketball-themed arcade game for Android and iOS devices. Released by casual gaming giant Ketchapp, a company that’s responsible for popular titles Ballz, Rider and Jelly Run to name a few, this game bears their signature blend of simple, crisp visuals, and highly addictive gameplay mechanics. The goal of Dunk Shot is to simply shoot as many baskets as possible without missing a single shot. If you miss, your run will end, and you will need to start over. The game is more than just getting balls into hoops, however. There are several challenges for you to take on. You can also purchase different balls by spending the money you earn from playing. 1. Master The Controls

Unlike most games that use swipes to get the ball through the hoop, this game uses slingshot mechanics to launch the ball. This may take a bit of getting used to since you will need to aim and measure power differently. Just pull the ball back and aim in the direction you want to send the ball flying. The more you pull back, the more power the shot will have. You may need to do a few test shots, so you can get a feel for how far you need to yank the ball in order to achieve the power level you want.

2. Practice Perfect Shots

A perfect shot is when you send the ball through the hoop without it touching the rim. Your first perfect shot in a combo is worth 2 points. Its value will increase by one point for every consecutive perfect shot you make. So, if you make 10 perfect shots in a row, the 10th ball is worth 11 points. If your combo ends, however, your next perfect shot will go back to just 2 points. Practice making these shots because they are great for racking up a lot of points.

3. Collect More Balls

There are several balls that are available for you to unlock. These are like skins for your basketball, so you can have different looks to suit your mood. Some of these balls can be purchased using the in-game currency. You just need to keep playing to earn enough to buy them. There are also special balls that can only be unlocked by completing certain missions. These missions usually involve accomplishing certain tasks in a game. For example, some balls can be unlocked when you hit a certain score in a single game. Other special balls can be unlocked by simply playing for a specific number of days in a row. Try to unlock them all if you can.

4. Things Will Get Tougher

Once you get into the right rhythm of making shots, you might start to think the game is too easy. Don’t relax just yet. The difficulty level ramps up as you make more shots. After a while, the hoop will start moving. At first it will just move from side to side, then up and down. Soon, it will be moving all over the screen, sometimes even past where your ball is. You will need to be able to anticipate where the hoop will be when you make your shots.

5. Aim For The Leaderboards

There is no multiplayer option in the game, but you can still compete against other real players by beating their high scores. You can view the leaderboards using Apple Game Center or Google Play.
