Choppa Tips & Tricks: 6 Hints to Save More People and Unlock More Stuff

Not to be confused with the rapper Choppa or other games with a similar name, Parta Games’ immersive new Android and iOS title Choppa has just arrived with an interesting premise. You play a character with the oh-so 1980s name Rick Guiver, and you are a “reckless coast guard rescue helicopter pilot.” Even the plot sounds like something out of the ‘80s, same with the references developer Parta Games uses. According to the game’s story, you’re confronting a “terrible oil rig catastrophe,” and you, being the reckless pilot you are, have decided to defy your superiors’ orders by flying into the “danger zone” and saving as many people as possible.

Indeed, this game sounds like a shameless commercial for the decade of mullets, new wave, hair metal, and military-themed movies. But that’s part of what makes it so fun. What isn’t fun, however, is crashing your chopper, er, Choppa, or failing to achieve what you set out to do. That’s why we’re here, as these Choppa tips and tricks can help you save more people and unlock more Choppas, among other things.

1. Watch An Ad Video To Double Your Coins

Choppa comes with an interesting twist to it, in the sense that the option to double your coins by watching an ad video comes before the game, and not after your run has ended. Watch a video before you begin a game, and the coins you earn in that run will be doubled for the first ten minutes. Look for the video button near the green start button, and hit it as often as possible so you can earn more coins. You will need those coins, after all, to unlock and buy new Choppas.

2. Prioritize Saving For The Rescue Choppa

The Rescue Choppa is the second helicopter you get to unlock in the game, and it’s going to cost you 300 coins. Now that might sound like a lot at first, but that’s why you’ll have to be patient at the start of the game, and to make use of the option to watch videos as often as possible. Those 300 coins will be worth it in the end, as the Rescue Choppa totally trumps the first one. Earn as many coins as possible during the missions and keep watching ads for more coin doublers and you’ll have enough resources to buy yourself that shiny new Rescue Choppa in time.

3. Upgrade Your Starter Choppa For More Money

In addition to watching ads, you can upgrade your starting Choppa in such a way that you can make it to Stage 3 or Stage 4. That’s going to mean more coins, and faster progress toward unlocking more stuff.

4. Money First, Survivors Later

Though the ostensible goal of the game is for you to rescue as many survivors as possible, it can be argued that the real goal is to make as much money as possible. That means trying to collect all the coins available on a stage. As there’s no time limit for you to save people that need to be rescued, you don’t really need to worry much about achieving that ostensible goal.

5. How To Rescue Survivors

But since you will need to ultimately rescue survivors, here are some tips on how you can do this easily. As we said, there’s no time limit, so you’ve got all the time in the world to maneuver your Choppa slowly but surely. We suggest going for the coins first, then coming back for the survivors, which should mean less pressure on your end. However, you should also keep in mind that the number of your stage means the maximum number of coins you can earn for completing it. If you see a fifth coin in Stage 4, you can ignore that coin if you’ve still got survivors to rescue.

6. Be Prepared To Confront Any Challenge

We’re referring to obstacles and enemies here, and each stage has its share of them. Examples of obstacles include the windmill, which you will ultimately have to hit so you can avoid it. Sounds paradoxical, and believe us when we say your Starter Choppa will bite the dust if you use it to hit the windmill. You’ve also got birds, who can fly in random, arbitrary directions and also make things plenty difficult for you. The key here is to do as we said earlier and to take your time if you want to avoid those obstacles and/or enemies.

These would be our tips and tricks for Choppa. We will update this game guide, whenever we discover more hints, so stay tuned!
