Balloons are fun to play with but there is just something completely satisfying about popping them. Bloons TD 5 is the latest in a successful series of balloon-popping games for Android and iOS devices. This tower defense game will have you popping waves upon waves of balloons charging into your territory. You could easily spend hours playing this on your first try. There are over 50 available tracks with hundreds of missions to complete. Conquering all of them will be quite the challenge. 1. Place Towers Strategically
There are several different towers to choose from when you play this game. That does not mean, however, that you should just plop down whichever tower tickles your fancy. Each tower has its own set of characteristics. You need to place each tower strategically in order to maximize their use. For example, the Ninja Monkey and the Tack Shooter both have the ability to hit multiple targets at once. The best place to put them is in corners so that they can wipe out all Bloons in their vicinity. Another useful tower is the Ice Tower which slows down enemies as they pass. Make sure you put Ice Towers in high-traffic areas on the track to help manage the flow of enemies. Read up on the characteristics of each tower and think about how you can take advantage of them.
2. Use Different Towers
While there will always be favorites when it comes to towers, you should still consider mixing up the towers you place on the track. As mentioned before, each tower has its own characteristics. In the same way, there will be different types of Bloons coming your way. Some of them will require specific towers to defeat. For example, there are camouflaged Bloons and you will need Ninja Monkeys to detect them. There are also metal-coated Bloons that will be difficult to take out using most towers. You will need to use cannons to break through the armor of coated enemies. Always use different types of towers to make sure you are prepared to handle all kinds of enemies.
3. Claim The Daily Rewards
Money can be a challenge in this game, especially if you are still starting out. That is why every little bit of help can go a long way. Make sure you take advantage of the freebies the game gives away in the form of Daily Login Rewards. All you need to do is log into the game once a day and claim your reward from the giant treasure box. You can get all sorts of things from the daily rewards, including money, special monkeys, and items. The money you earn in the game can be used on specialty houses that can give you different advantages in the game.
4. Set Up Kill Zones
Kill zones are areas in the track where most Bloonz will get wiped out. These are best placed in tight turns as the enemies will tend to bottleneck in these locations. You will be able to obliterate multiple enemies by strategically setting up large radius attacks in these kill zones. Take advantage of this in order to clear some of the most difficult tracks in the game. Remember, have well-placed towers beats having a lot of them.
5. Learn To Prioritize Upgrades
When you are playing the game, there will be times when a tower’s basic form just isn’t enough to handle the incoming enemies. When this happens, you have the option to upgrade your towers in order to make them stronger. However, upgrades are not free. You will need to pay in-game coins in order to upgrade your towers. Since your coins are limited, it is important that you know which towers should be upgraded first.
It is usually a good idea to upgrade the Monkey Dart, Tack Shooter, Monkey Village, Ice Tower, and Ninja Monkey. These towers are staples in the game and give a lot of benefit when upgraded. The Monkey Village is an extremely useful support unit so try to place a couple of these in your kill zones to maximize their effect. Keep in mind that these are general suggestions. Since there are dozens of different tracks in the game, make sure you still analyze your current game and upgrade as you see fit.
6. Improve Your Rank
Destroying Bloons and completing missions will give you experience. When you have enough experience, you will rank up. Doing so will give you access to more features of the game. These features include new towers, additional upgrades, more missions, and different game modes. Continue to rank up in order to unlock all the features of the game!
7. Buy Permanent Upgrades
The upgrades that you buy with coins only last until the end of the stage you are playing. If you want permanent upgrades to your towers, you will need to purchase them using cash or Tokens. While this may put a dent on your wallet, the upgrades are actually pretty useful since they will apply to all the towers that you have. You also have the option to invest in specialty buildings as these will improve the statistics of their corresponding towers.
8. Use The Temporary Save
There will be times that you will lose no matter how much you prepare beforehand. When this happens, you have the chance to continue from the last round you played by using a temporary save method. Once you are on the game over screen, just close the game by ending the application on your phone instead of exiting properly. Doing this will create a temporary save file that will allow you to continue your game upon relaunching the game. Remember, this is a temporary save. If you start another game, it will disappear and you will no longer be able to resume.
